A Eco Feira é um evento mensal produzido pelo coletivo da Ocupação Mercado Sul. Nesta 37ª edição da feira também foi comemorado o 2º aniversário da ocupação:
"No dia 07 de fevereiro
de 2015, nós do movimento cultural, trabalhador@s e moradores do Beco iniciamos
nosso processo de retomada da cidade. A cidade que construimos, no beco onde
existimos e criamos noss@s filh@s, nossas lutas, nossas artes. Reivindicamos as
lojas abandonadas, ruínas ociosas que vêm ao longo de mais de 10 anos afetando
a segurança e a saúde fisica, social, ambiental e cultural do Mercado
Sul. Por acreditar que o direito de viver não deve estar submetido aos
interesses da especulação imobiliária, que prefere os espaços fechados,
decidimos ocupá-los e reabri-los com o proposito de recuperar mais um cantinho
da cidade para a vida e convívio saudável e coletivo. Em nossa trajetória,
tecida por muitas mãos e em processo de construção contínua, aprendemos que a
cidade deve estar de acordo com a força coletiva que a construiu e segue
construindo, que deve servir ao bem comum, ser inclusiva e participativa. A
isso concordamos em chamar de Direito à Cidade e assim o reivindicamos como
tantos outros grupos e tantas outras comunidades organizadas mundo afora. O
Estatuto da Cidade entende que a área ou construção urbana que não cumpre sua
função social deve ser reordenada ao coletivo, ao bem comum da cidade. Afinal,
a quem deve servir os bairros e a própria cidade? Assim, não podemos deixar de
concluir que a situação que hoje vivenciamos viola nossos direitos e que
devemos nos manter firmes em sua defesa.
Nosso intuito é preservar esse lugar histórico de
Taguatinga (e do DF) tanto em sua dimensão arquitetônica, quanto na escala
humana, com as vidas vividas aqui e a cultura que aflora há décadas desse
lugar. Aqui se constroem violas, vídeos, mamulengos, artesanatos e instrumentos
com papelão e saco de cimento. Aqui, o beco vira palco, roda de capoeira,
escola, eco-feira, vira comunidade, santuário, espaço de produção e
aprendizagem. Daqui surgiram inúmeras iniciativas culturais e coletivas…. Com
esse movimento, pretendemos dignificar a morada e o trabalho d@s que aqui
residem, fortalecer as ações que já são realizadas, expandi-las e enraiza-las,
assim como servir de meio e apoio para novas ações e iniciativas criando um
centro de difusão e criação cultural de Taguatinga. Convidamos a tod@s que
